Each summer, hundreds of thousands of parents throughout Iowa are faced with the same old question: What do I do to keep my kids occupied this summer? The Carnegie-Stout Library has the answer: get them reading! Thanks to our generous sponsors, we have lots of great prizes to make it even more interesting! So, find yourself a good read and a comfortable spot, and start reading!

State Partnership
The State of Iowa is a member of the nationwide summer reading cooperative, the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). Through this partnership, the Carnegie-Stout Library encourages children and teens to improve their reading skills by reading and using their public library.
How the Program Works
Sign up at the library or online to receive your reading log. On the reading log each symbol is worth ½ hour of reading. Only one symbol can be colored in each day. For every 7 symbols or every 3.5 hours of reading you reach another level. One reading log per child.
