Carnegie-Stout Public Library’s bi-monthly book discussion group for adults will meet at 7:00 p.m. in the 3rd Floor Aigler Auditorium on Tuesday, May 15, 2013 where the book State of Wonder by Ann Patchett will be discussed. Research scientist Dr. Marina Singh is sent to Brazil to track down her former mentor, Dr. Annick Swenson, who seems to have disappeared in the Amazon while working on an extremely valuable new drug. The last person who was sent to find her died before he could complete his mission. Plagued by trepidation, Marina embarks on an odyssey into the insect-infested jungle in hopes of finding new answers to the questions about her friend’s death, her company’s future, and her own past.
Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk. The public is cordially invited to attend. For more information, please call the Carnegie-Stout Public Library at 563-589-4225, or visit the Library’s website, www.dubuque.lib.ia.us.
